The California Endowment headquarters is a complex consisting of a four-story office block, a conference center, meeting rooms, an open-air courtyard used for meetings and entertaining, and below-grade and at-grade parking. The building is located at the intersection of North Main Street and Alameda Avenue, adjacent to the historic center of Los Angeles at Olvera Street. House and Robertson acted as executive architects for interior and shell and core components. The building incorporates sustainability features, and LEED certification is currently in process. The conference center incorporates food service facilities, and provides a venue that can be configured either as a single room seating 500, or two separate rooms, each with their own AV capability. HRA worked in collaboration with two separate design offices to develop construction documents for the building shell and the interior improvements. The project team was honored with a Presidential Award from the Los Angeles Chapter of the AIA for "Building Team of the Year".
