This cast-in-place concrete office building in the Kendall Square area of Cambridge, Massachusetts is the headquarters of the Genzyme Corporation. The project, developed in collaboration with Behnisch, Behnisch + Partner of Stuttgart, Germany, utilizes extensive sustainable building techniques and technologies, and is on track to becoming the first major building in an urban area to receive a "Platinum" LEED rating from the US Green Building Council. The 12-story building has a central atrium extending through the full height of the structure, a custom double façade, and innovative light enhancement features to distribute daylight within the interior working environment.
