The Farmer's Market expansion, completed in 2003, consists of five separate buildings totaling over 165,000 gross square feet of construction area. On the site of the historic Farmers Market in Los Angeles' Fairfax district, all are mixed use buildings, and include office, retail and food service. Construction utilized a range of building materials, including wood and steel-frame structures, and innovative use of fiber-cement board as a durable, low-cost finish material at the façade of the largest structure.
