The central space in the Fuller Seminary Center for Worship and the Arts is a 600-seat multipurpose assembly structure designed to accommodate spoken word, choral, instrumental, and amplified music performances. To accommodate this wide range, variable acoustics are provided to tune the reverberation period of the performance space to intervals appropriate for the type of performance. Provision is also made for state-of-the-art audio/video feeds and display, and support and pre-and postfunction areas. The project includes a multitude of innovative acoustic features, including special skylight and window assemblies to allow natural light in the performance space. The worship center is located on the historic campus of the Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California, and was designed with advanced sustainability features that also enhanced the primary function of the building.
